Melissa Johnson has worked in Middle School Youth Ministry for approximately 8 years and has partnered with JP as a church chaperone and trip co-leader for 4 years with her husband, Ryan Johnson.  Currently, Melissa attends The Bridge Christian Fellowship in Chesapeake, VA, where she co-leads the "Surge" Middle School Youth Group.  Melissa is a homeschool parent to her three children, including twin 16-year-old daughters and a 13-year-old son, and she is also employed part-time with her local YMCA as a fitness instructor.  She holds a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Old Dominion University, though she doesn't currently practice. A bookish fangirl-type, Melissa adores discussing books and movies, especially sci-fi/fantasy or superheroes, and if you leave a plate of sushi too near her, it may just mysteriously disappear.  Her favorite book of the Bible is Romans, and her favorite Biblical character is the prophet Elijah (because sometimes he got frustrated trying to hear God's voice, too, and also because someday I want God to remind me to lie down under a nice tree and take a nap).
